OPTION: ANDREA JABLONSKI AND CALE ARTHUR

June 5, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

$8 - $10

Andrea Jablonski is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Chicago; this will be her first concert in several years and the first time she is collaborating with Cale Arthur. They will be performing two new compositions for electric bass. The influences that brought you the low end sludge of Rabid Rabbit and the dirge of From Bones now find their place this brand new format. In the second half of the program Jablonski will discuss her artwork, music, and community based activities with Ken Vandermark.

Among other merits, Jablonski was named a Tribune Millennium Artist 2000, one of the Chicago Reader’s 2011 People of the Year and the Featured Artist for East Garfield Park Chicago Artists’ Month 2013. She has over a decade experience in commercial painting, murals, set designs and installations.

Her personal work includes a wide range of mediums, techniques and themes that focus on site specific installations, community based and collaborative projects, and using repurposed materials. Jablonski has completed several artist residencies, most notably working with Arts of Life, Pitchfork Music Festival and Valley of the Vapors Music and Art Festival ( Hot Springs AK ) bringing her Prayer Flag Project – which was also showcased at Garfield Park Conservatory and Chicago Green Technology Center.

Jablonski works with several not for profits including Elastic Arts, having been their Sound and Vision Gallery curator for a couple seasons and Operamatic – a community based arts program in Humboldt Park.  She is also a well respected musician among her peers and has been active in the music scene for many years.

CALE ARTHUR is a Chicago-based musician, record enthusiast, carpenter and photographer.
