True School MC Bvax Drops His 17-Track Sophomore Solo Album “B-Boy Summer”

BVAX on Reverbnation

True school hip-hop MC and DJ Bvax just dropped a brand new 17-track album entitled B-Boy Summer.  Many of you may know him as a DJ, and have seen him rocking stage shows with Dirty MF, Waffle Gang, Ol Days, and Urbanized Music, but Bvax is also an MC.  He is a member of the veteran hip-hop quartet Endangered Species, and even has deep roots as a B-boy.

Last week Bvax released his 2nd solo project, ‘B-BOY SUMMER’ (available both online and on CD,) and it has taken off to very positive reviews, and sales. With tracks by Kenny Keys, DJ DJ Alo, Coolout Chris, DJ Fif Element, Wes Restless, Jai Dot,  Mike Spex, Soillie, and Mo Murda it’s no surprise the production is so tight. “You won’t hear a lot of ‘Look at what I got’, and ‘Do this dance’ in my rhymes.” Bvax believes music should be timeless and not just for the moment, and he says “It should always evoke feelings and touch you in some way.”, which he demonstrates in every song.

Bvax has also been very busy over the past few years performing and spinning across the country and opening for artists like Common, Dj Kool Herc, Too Short, Slum Village, Digable Planets, Masta Ace, The Alkaholiks, Jeru the Damamja, DJ Grandwizard Theodore and others.  He has completed 4 tours, played al SLUM Fest, Guerilla Fest and SXSW.

You can catch BVAX spinning with Dirty MF and Smokin’ Sextion every first Friday of the month at Jerrys, 1938 West Division. He also hosts a radio show alongside Steph Staa , DJ SP1 and Elevation every Wednesday at 1710 am, from  9pm-12am. And on Wednesday, October 16th, he will be back for the monthly Hello Hip Hop series with Visual and dj Shon Roka at Subterranean, 2011 W. North Ave.
