David Reminick

Members of Chicago’s dynamic new-music community will perform an evening of chamber music by composer/multi-instrumentalist David Reminick. Reminick is best known as the singer/guitarist for Chicago post-punk band Paper Mice, and his chamber music brings the same energetic, off-kilter rhythms and angular melodies that his band is known for. The program will feature two of his compositions for singing instrumentalists – the U.S. premiere of his sextet Bird Songs (Part I) and his string quartet The Ancestral Mousetrap – along with works for voice, trombone, and saxophone.
