VOICES HEARD: Expressions Of Visionary Black Women – A 2 Day Festival curated by Nicolle Mitchell.

Curators Statement:

“Why a festival featuring Black women in creative music? Our Voices. Heard now. It’s time. I simply wanted to initiate a time/space with other warrior-healers, a space where Black women — our creativity, our struggles, and our conversations — are front and center for all to experience and enjoy. This is a momentary space for innovation and musical dialogue. Each artist on the festival is original, and has her own way of doing things, so togetherVoices Heard is a diverse spectrum of perspectives. What all these artists have in common is passion, commitment and creativity, and our work contributes to the greater herstory of jazz, the AACM and beyond. Come out and you’ll see!”
